By Emma Geller
pebble tears,
all mountain eyed,
in early lush
spring afternoon-
where symbolism
mingled with
the knotted roots
of that day.
the black dog
crept closer to me,
not soft eyed but
all teeth, out to prey
with a darkwood
lurch,
i got stuck
in a solar city,
surrounded by
dogwood docks-
lunging
at the waves.
