dead girl

By Emma Geller

small town secrets-
clasp death
in lockets churning.

and marshy tides
wash clean
her pale hands-

it happened too early,
this little girl could’ve been
a mother.

but pure,
she faded.
locked in time,
she left earth,
for heavenly places.
