Writing

By Yuu Ikeda

Writing is breathing

Words are drops of my breath

Words are flakes of my blood

My notebooks

full of my breath and blood

are always shouting,

wailing, and swaying,

to mark evidence

of living and death

on me

My notebooks

full of my breath and blood

are time

that I wanted to stop,

that I wanted to repeat,

that I wanted to carve
