Ain’t That Sweet

Sitting on the counter bar stools 

in their established seats of power

the go-go boys make their rounds 

past these leather and denim cowboy regulars

making quick smile small talk

and thinking the candy bars handed over

isn’t budgetary representation 

of old habits from harder lived times
